For this dual-townhouse project, the architectural vision was to capture the modern Melbourne family lifestyle in two contemporary townhouses.
From the street, each appears as an individual and unique address. The client had requested large portions of solid render walls. Softer elements were introduced across the facade to provide a sense of balance, including timber garage doors, vertical timber battens and expansive glazing for the entry doorways and first-floor bedrooms.
Inside, the two townhouse layouts are identical with a highly considered approach to natural flow, movement, and light. A centrally-located stair draws sunlight deep within the home through skylights, and the inclusion of a secondary living zone on the first floor provides space for a rumpus room or flexible space. All three bedrooms include an impeccably finished ensuite.
Taking advantage of sea breezes and sunlight, the ground floor living space opens to generous outdoor decked entertaining zones where children can play, and families can gather framed by gardens. The essence of brilliant bayside living.
