This project introduces a pair of architecturally-designed contemporary townhouses to a tree-lined Newport residential street.
In fact, it was one of the street’s signature towering trees that influenced the project’s design. Mancini Made brought the council, client and an arborist together to determine a design solution that delivered a positive outcome suiting everyone’s needs.
Listening, learning and working together were also key in developing the roof design, with Council opposing a flat roof and the clients’ preference against a pitched roof. This led to the townhouses’ distinguished double-gable façade.
From the street, each residence has a clear sense of identity, composed with a refined material palette. The materials artfully balance off-white render, dark battened cladding, and black trims and frames.
Inside, the two townhouses present two unique floorplans, each responding to the owners' needs.
The design focuses on lifestyle amenities throughout the interiors, with both ground floors dedicated to open-plan living, dining and entertainment areas. These spaces enjoy abundant natural light, and flow naturally to outdoor entertaining areas.
Minimal, modern and carefully considered to embrace its immediate environment, this project highlights the collaborative nature of the wider Mancini Made team and its ability to achieve an excellent result for all.
