The project's essential vision was to create a contemporary interpretation of the local architectural vernacular while introducing innovative design elements. By drawing inspiration from surrounding structures and utilizing light-coloured materials, the townhouses maintain a sense of openness and seamlessly integrate into the existing streetscape.
The development overcame several design challenges while creating standout features. Power poles were strategically relocated to accommodate a new crossover without compromising street aesthetics. Large front windows and glazed ground-floor doors enhance safety through passive surveillance and community interaction. Careful building placement maximized landscaping, providing lush green spaces in the front setback for privacy and curb appeal. The massing design, with recessed upper levels and well-placed windows, prevents overshadowing and ensures ample natural light for both the townhouses and neighbouring properties.
The project's unique all-white exterior, incorporating white brick, window frames, shroud features, and capping, sets it apart as a Mancini Made creation. Gable roofs reinterpret a common local architectural element, blending tradition with modernity. Vertical timber boards on garage doors and above first-floor windows echo traditional weatherboards while offering a fresh aesthetic. Street-facing studies near entrances further enhance security and community engagement. Grass-crete driveways add a natural element while improving site permeability and stormwater management. Finally, spacious rear living areas with open-plan designs create a seamless indoor-outdoor transition, completing this thoughtfully designed development.
