The exterior design takes its cue from the architectural character of the local area in Niddrie and neighbouring Essendon, seen in the use of familiar materials and confident appearance.
As a pair of homes, the project makes a subtle statement on the streetscape through the external stone finish (including the stacked form), louvre blinds and expansive glass doors.
The only constraint of the site was its fall towards the rear. Mancini Made worked with this, incorporating steps into the backyard, and creating the opportunity for alfresco areas and landscaping around a swimming pool.
The size of the site was also a consideration when it came to planning the townhouses, with an emphasis on natural sunlight and maximising spaces – particularly in the living areas and bedrooms.
The result is a highly considered pair of modern residences in a family-friendly location, thoughtfully designed and delivered as either an investment or a place to call home.
