The site is positioned within the inner-suburb ascot vale, and the architectural response was to reflect a heritage precinct's scale, formality and vernacular – while also creating a unique contemporary home.
This was achieved through bold design decisions, including a minimal use of windows along the street frontage and an interplay of masonry and steel cladding in a monochromatic palette.
The character of this style demanded construction by a team that shares an appreciation for design, and a relentless pursuit of perfection in workmanship. This made Mancini Made an ideal fit for the project, having previously delivered many high-end homes.
Of particular note on this project are the natural stonework and large porcelain slabs throughout the kitchen and all wet areas. This residence also stands apart for its open living kitchen boasting full-height glazing to the perimeter of the space, looking onto the landscaped rear garden and swimming pool.
For the Mancini Made team, this project's main complexity was navigating construction throughout pandemic lockdowns. This meant coordinating reduced allowable workers on site and managing limited labour. With a robust program and project team in place, work could continue with minimal interruption.
Supplier delays were similarly handled by ensuring packages were procured well in advance. The result is a masterfully finished home that meets both the architect's vision and our client's needs, even in challenging times.
